The Chichibu Distillery was founded in 2004 in the town of the same name by Ichiro Akuto

Slyrs Champions Malt first matured for 3 years in fresh American white oak barrels (Virgin Oak) and then received a post-maturation in Bavarian wheat beer barrels for 6 months

Before the distillery passed to the current owner

Evidence of (illegal) whiskey distilling in the region around the town of Tain dates back to around 1700

It grows in clusters in the clearings of the forests of the Bialowieza National Park on the border of Poland and Belarus. So every blade of buffalo grass in a Grasovka bottle is a gift from Polish nature. You can still find the rare free living European bison there today.
