Georgian Carnelian, Pearl, Garnet and Topaz Maltese Cross Pendant Garnet Measures: 5Georgian carnelian, natural pearl, garnet and topaz Maltese cross to a pearl set bezel. The reverse features a glazed hairwork compartment, mounted in gold. Circa 1830. The Maltese cross was first used in the 1500s, given to individuals who had demonstrated acts of valour and rescue. The crosses then became very fashionable in the 18th. Length: 4. 9cm
