Arriving on the eve of Tropicalismo, the record places Gils guitar at the center of rich arrangements by Carlos Monteiro de Souza, Dori Caymmi, and Leonardo Bruno. Blending samba, bossa nova, carnival traditions, and Northeastern Brazilian rhythms, the album explores social, political, and religious themes. The title track Louvao, co written with Torquato Neto, calls for
