Rare Axinite Shard Gemstone Specimen with Pleochroism (Video) acrylic Base Color: PurpleAxinite is a rare calcium aluminium boro silicate which has optical pleochroism properties as shown in our video photos. The term Axinite comes from the ax head shape which is typical of these crystals. Pleochroism is a colour change when exposed to LED lighting this batch of Axinite displays cream, brown, orange, yellow, amber, plum, red, and violet colours. Specimen measures approx. 3cm x 1. 9cm x 1cm. A rare and unique miniature thumbnail specimen
