Otter Firesteel - Misch Metal Ferro Rod Blank - 5/16" x 4" Tactical Package Contents:Â LR30The Otter firesteel is actually 8mm (. 31") x 100mm (3. 97") and is a nice compromise when the 1 4" rods aren't quite enough and 3 8" rods are too much. Please note that the current version of the firesteels are not exactly the same as our original Youtube video. The composition is the same, but the manufacturer hardens the alloy for a longer period. This makes the rods significantly easier to use, but they will not throw as large of gobs of metal
