Georgian Black-Dot Paste Flower Ring souvenir A cool antique brooch depictingDATE: Georgian, c. 1800 An attractive Georgian flower cluster ring set with an array of "black dot" paste gemstones in silver over a 15k gold foiled dish back. Complete with an ornate gold shank featuring deeply carved oak leaf motifs. The pastes each have a tiny "black dot" painted on the open culet in order to better simulate old cut diamonds. Made at a time when paste gemstones could and would command higher prices than their naturally occurring
