Victorian Garnet Gold Digger Brooch Giuliano and formed from faienceDATE: Victorian, c. 1880 A particularly good example of a South African goldrush brooch, dating from the 1880s. It comprises the standard miner's tools, a shovel, pick, and bucket, along with a rope and ladder. It also features two miniature gold nuggets, and has a garnet set into the shovel. It would likely have been sold to tourists visiting the gold fields of South Africa. I ain't sayin' she a gold digger but STONES Garnet MEASUREMENTS 4. 6 x 2.
